Dr Susie Hulley is a Research Associate at the Institute of Criminology, Cambridge University. She holds a Masters degree in Criminology and received her PhD from University College London. Her PhD research focused on young people and anti-social behaviour, in the context of local policing. IN her subsequent work she has been studying various aspects of prison and imprisonment, including the quality of life for prisoners in public and private sector prisons in England and Wales and the effectiveness of in-prison diversity training. Susie is currently co-investigator on a large study exploring the experiences of young men and women who receive very long life sentences when they are young adults. She has published in national and international peer-review journals and has supervised and taught students at Cambridge University and elsewhere.
