Solimar Figueroa brings 35 years of acute care experience. She worked in the Operating Room for 25 years and headed the department. Her leadership experience includes the position of a Director in Nursing/Chief Nursing Officer and director of a nursing home. In 2006, she became the clinical coordinator of a medical-surgical unit. She then accepted the position of a system wide nurse educator in 2008. Ms. Figueroa was instrumental in developing an evidence-based approach in preceptorship, the Married State Preceptorship Model (MSPM) in transitioning nurses. Ms. Figueroa had presented multiple podium and poster presentations nationally and internationally. Ms. Figueroa had attained her Master of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Healthcare Administration last 2009. She is on her candidacy in PhD. Currently, she serves as an accreditation appraiser for ANCC in continuing education and the transition to practice. Furthermore, she had written books on preceptorship.
