Ryuichi Katada received the M.D in March 2003 from Sapporo Medical University at Sapporo in Japan and PhD in March 2008 from graduate school of Sapporo Medical University in the department of Legal Medicine and Molecular Alcohology at Sapporo in Japan. From September 2012, he has been working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Legal Medicine and Molecular Alcohology in Sapporo Medical University in Japan.
His main research interests are
1) Pathogenesis of brain edema after traumatic brain injury under alcohol consumption.
2) Pathogenesis of AQP4 expression in hyposodium condition.
3) Drug dependence and alcohol withdrawal.
4) Differential diagnosis of fresh water drowning and salt water drowning by AQP4 expression in brain.
