Peter J O Brien

Biography

Peter J O Brien is working  as a Professor of Toxicology at Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacyin University of Toronto Canada. He has done his B.Sc. Honours, Biochemistry from the Department of Biochemistry, University College London, UK.
Done M.Sc. Radiobiology from the Department of Physics, Birmingham University, UK.He has done his Ph.D. Biochemistry, (Advisor, Prof. G. Hubscher) Department of Medical Biochemistry, Birmingham University, UK.
Post Doc fellowship is done along with Prof., Alistair Fraser, Department of Medical Biochemistry, Birmingham University, UK. He is a Senior Research Associate, Department of Medical Biochemistry, Birmingham University, UK.
He worked as an Associate Professor of Biochemistry, Department of Biochemistry, Memorial University of Newfoundland, St. John’s Nfld. He is now working as a Professor, Graduate Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy and Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto.He has been as Graduate Chairman (1987-1999) and Associate Dean of Research Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto. He worked as an editorial board member for the journals like Xenobiotica (1982-1995), Drug Metab. and Drug Interacns. He recieved various honors and awards like Recipient McNeil (Janssen-Ortho) Award for Pharmaceutical Sciences Research (1996).He has published over 250 scientific papers and 13 book chapters.

Peter J O Brien Research Interests are Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, Mechanisms of Drug-Induced Cytotoxicity and Its Prevention.
