I was born at Hisar Köyü of Mut in Mersin at the 15th of August, 1945. After primary school at Hisar Köyü, I was admitted to Middle School of Silifke high school and I graduated from Silifke high school in 1963. After taken Middle East University entrance examination I was accepted to the Department of Chemistry in Arts and Sciences Faculty. I attended one year to English Preparotory School. In 1969 I graduated from the University as Chemist. Then, I was accepted to the MSc program in Molecular Biology and I got my MSc degree from Modern Biology Program in the Department of Chemistry, in September, 1971. My thesis title was “Identification of a leucine transport system in Jerusalem Artichoke tuber slices”. Then, I took the assistantship entrance examination in the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Medicine of Hacettepe University and I was accepted as research assistant and as PhD student. I got my PhD in September, 1974. The title of my PhD thesis was “The purification and kinetic properties of cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase from bovine cerebral cortex”. I become associate professor in 1979 and professor in 1988. I got my medical specialist diplome in 1982 with the thesis on the “The level of creatine phosphokinase isozymes in the serum of patients with acute myocardial infarctus”.
