Dr. Muthuvel Jayachandran is Assistant Professor of Physiology and Biomedical Engineering, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, USA. Upon obtaining a PhD in Biochemistry from University of Madras, India, he was awarded a postdoctoral fellowship from Japan Society for the Promotion of Science to do cardiovascular research at Nagoya University School of Medicine, Japan. In 2000, he moved to USA to continue his research in cardiovascular pathophysiology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester. Dr. Jayachandran received many awards for his research from various professional organizations including Young Scientist Award from ASIOA, Scientist Development Grant from the American Heart Association, a Novel Methodology Grant Award and a Pilot Grant from Mayo Clinic. He is also Co-Investigator of multiple R01 grants funded by the National Institute of Health. Dr. Jayachandran has published more than 40 peer-reviewed research articles, and written several reviews, book chapters and editorials. He is a reviewer of 19 scientific journals.
