Degree in Epidemiology and Community Medicine at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, in Tokyo, Japan and her combined MD/ PhD degree in molecular genetics at Tsukuba University, Japan, in 2001. Dr. Hou received her postdoctoral training in molecular cancer epidemiology at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Dr. Hou has investigated genetic factors (i.e., polymorphisms, telomere length shortening, mitochondria DNA copy number variations); and epigenetic factors (i.e., genomewideDNA methylationprofilling, histone modifications, and microRNA profiling).
