Biography

Kelvin P Davis was trained in biochemistry and molecular biology and have joint appointments as Associate Professor in the Department of Urology and Department of Physiology and Biophysics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. The laboratory is interested in understanding urogenital pathology at the physiological, biochemical and molecular level. The ultimate goal of these investigations is to develop new treatments for, or methods to diagnose, urogenital disease. Our recent research has focused on the role of two very different proteins, the MaxiK channel and Opiorphins in urogenital smooth muscle tissue function.
