Dr. Kawu had residency training programme in Orthopaedics in Nigeria but benefited from spine surgery training with Prof Diete Grob in Switzerland, Bart Poffyn in Belgium, Robert Dunn in South Africa, and Prof Baron Lonner in the USA. He is the second spine surgeon to be employed in my country with a population of 160 million people. Presently, his job is to help train a new generation of spine surgeons and establish practice of spine surgery in Nigeria.
