Jennifer J. Wu

Biography

Jennifer Wu grew up in Beijing, China and immigrated to Baltimore during high school, where her parents were visiting physician scientists at NIH and Johns Hopkins Medical Center. She then moved to New York City to finish high school. After getting a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry at State University of New York at Binghamton, Jennifer returns to New York City to pursue a career in medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She decided to stay at Montefiore Medical Center for internship and residency in order to continue working with Dr. Janice Dutcher, who was her mentor and role model during medical school, and contributed to Jennifer’s decision to pursue hematology and oncology.  With the ever changing landscape of oncology and diverse patient population at NYU Langone Medical Center, Jennifer is delighted to stay as faculty after completion of her fellowship with a concentration on patients with hepatocellular carcinoma and biliary cancer.

Research Interest

Gastrointestinal cancers with a focus on liver cancer and biliary cancers.

Community outreach and early cancer detection and screening.
