He received his PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Akron in 2004 Currently he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University. He has authored over 20 research articles and book chapters. He is a member of Society for Biomaterials and Materials Research Society He is a recipient of NSF CAREER Award and Coulter Translational Research Award.
