Giuseppe Viglietto [Cited in the list of the 1255 TOP ITALIAN SCIENTISTS of the VIAAcademy] has published on the most important biomedical journals of the world, in the field of human genetics (EMBOJ, PNAS, American Journal of Human Genetics) and of molecular oncology (Oncogene, Cancer Research, JCI, Nature Medicine, American Journal of Pathology). In the field of human genetics Giuseppe Viglietto: contributed to clone the gene for glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency and has performed the molecular characterization of variants from the the Mediterranean Area (Nucleic Acid Res 1985; EMBOJ, 1986, Human Genetics, 1989). He has identified a new susceptibility gene for a form of cancer of the thyroid gland (Endocrine-related cancer, 2010).
Endocrine related cancer
