Dr. Jie-Lou Liao

Biography

Dr. Liao is currently a professor in chemistry and physics at Department of Chemical Physics, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), P. R. China. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from USTC and his Ph. D. degree from the same institution. Then he worked at Department of Chemical Physics, USTC as an assistant professor and later an associate professor. After he completed his research work as a visiting scientist at Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel, he worked as a research scientist at Department of Chemistry, University of Utah. Prior to joining a pharmaceutical company in North Carolina, USA as a principal scientist and later an executive R & D director, he worked as a senior scientist and a research fellow at Department of Chemistry, Duke University. He was a visiting professor at North Carolina State University. He has published over eighty research papers, chapters and reviews primarily in the fields of computational chemistry and biology, and medicinal chemistry. He was a recipient of Fellowship Award of British Royal Society. Dr. Liao’s current research interests include multi-scale modeling of complex biological systems, inflammation and inflammatory diseases, tumor immunology and anti-cancer drug discovery.
