Bhaskar Godugu

Biography

Dr. Bhaskar Godugu has received his PhD in the field of Mass spectrometry at Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), India during the period of 2004 to 2007. After finishing his PhD, he was selected as a postdoctoral fellow at National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), USA and he worked for 3 years at NIST. Currently, he is working as a Research Assistant Professor in department of chemistry at University of Pittsburgh, USA. He has been successfully responding his Administrative responsibilities as a Director for the department Mass spec facility. Dr. Godugu has effectively applied his expertise in Mass spectrometry is one of the analytical method to characterize and identify the compounds from biological extracts and/or organic synthesis. He is serving as an editorial member of several reputed journals like Analytical & Bioanalytical Techniques, Analytical Chemistry Research and Journal of Mass spectrometry. He has authored twelve research articles in international peer reviewed journals. He is a member for the Science Advisory Board, Journal of American society for Mass spectrometry. 

Research Interest

Mass Spectrometry, Electron Ionization, Chemical Ionization, HPLC/MS platforms, peptide sequencing and posttranslational modification site determination with major emphasis on oxidation, methylation and deamidation, Extensive experience on data analysis by using NIST pipeline and MASCOT search
