Dr. Antonio Russo received his MD from University Medical School of Palermo, Italy in 1982. His post-graduate speciality were Medical Genetic and Medical Oncology. Since 2008, he is Associate Professor of Medical Oncology and Chief of Genetic and Molecular Oncology Unit at University Medical School of Palermo. Since 2004, he is an Adjunct Associate Professor Temple University’s, Philadelphia USA and since 2011, he is an Adjunct Full Professor Temple University, Philadelphia, USA. He is Expert member of INSERM, INCA, NWCRF. The central theme of his studies is translational and clinical research, meaning the application of molecular genetics in routine malignant tumors. He is author for more than 200 publications in top-rated cancer journal.
Design and conduction of phase II-III clinical trials in solid tumours, Chemotherapy and targeted therapies of solid tumors, Prognostic and predictive biomolecular indicators of therapeutic response to monoclonal antibodies and to tyrosine kinase inhibitors in solid tumours, Molecular genetics, prevention and therapies of hereditary and familial tumors especially those of the breast/ovary and of the gastrointestinal tract.
