Dr. Sharafkhaneh is an associate professor of medicine and program director of the Sleep Medicine Fellowship Program at the Baylor College of Medicine and a medical director at the Sleep Disorders and Research Center at the Michael E DeBakey VA Medical Center both located in Houston Texas. Dr Sharafkhaneh is board certified in internal medicine pulmonary diseases critical care medicine and sleep medicine. He also has a Certificate of Added Qualification in Clinical Research. Since 2002 Dr Sharafkhaneh has conducted numerous research studies on respiratory diseases including asthma COPD bronchitis and emphysema. He is an active member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine the American Thoracic Society and European Respiratory Society and a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. Dr Sharafkhaneh is on the review panel of the journals Chest Respiratory Medicine International Journal of COPD Thorax Journal of Affective Disorders and Sleep. Dr Sharafkhaneh received his MD at the Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 1990 and his PhD in public health at the Baylor College of Medicine in 2008. His extensive publication experience includes 40 journal articles 12 book chapters and 20 abstracts.
Dr. Sharafkhaneh research interest include Pulmonary diseases, Critical care medicine and Sleep disorders medicine.
