Our laboratory focuses upon understanding molecular details of the antigen-immune interaction and inflammation with specific focus upon the role of epithelial cells and their barrier properties in this regulation. In particular, we are interested in mucosal inflammation and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) as models in our investigation. In addition, we are studying how growth factor signaling modulates cell-cell communication and associated signaling to regulate neoplastic transformation of epithelia to facilitate neoplastic growth. We are using colon and kidney cancer as models in our studies.
