    Natural Approach to Coexisting Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome

    Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is a common reproductive and metabolic disorder. It is considered the ovarian manifestation of metabolic syndrome and is a common cause for an ovulatory infertility. PCOS commonly coexists with other metabolic manifestations such as Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) which leads to therapeutic challenges especially when infertility is involved. Existing treatment strategies for PCOS have limited success, side effects or are costly giving rise to a curiosity in women to seek alternative therapies such as Chinese Medicine.
