Biography
Professor Hugo Maia Jr. is the medical coordinator of Instituto da Mulher and Research
Director at CEPARH, Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. He graduated from the School of
Medicine, Federal University of Bahia in 1977. He was a World Health Organization
fellow at the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden in 1978. Professor Maia Jr. has
published over 200 scientific papers and his main research interests at the moment are
the treatment of endometriosis and the role of aromatase in this disease process
