  Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is now recognized as a big threat for human health. It has been a problem in developed countries for decades and also emerging similarly in developing countries. It has been also called as “Syndrome X”, “Deadly quartet”, “Reaven’s syndrome”. Essentially these are of the same clinical status, in which insulin resistance is the common condition. In such condition hyperinsulinemia occurs, which may have potential influence on other organs and tissues, including kidney – glomeruli and tubules - , cardiovascular systems, liver, muscles.
