Sharad S Singhal
Biography
Sharad S. Singhal was born in Agra, India, in 1963, where he received both his B.S. degree in 1982 and M.S. degree in 1984, from the Agra University, Agra, India, and he received his Ph.D. degree in 1989 from the Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI), Lucknow, India. Then he moved to USA in 1989. He was trained as a Postdoctoral Fellow (1989ââ¬â1993) with Professor Yogesh Awasthi at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, TX, USA, where he served as an Assistant Professor (1996ââ¬â1999). Singhal joined the University of Texas at Arlington, Arlington, TX, USA, in 1999, where he worked as a Research Associate Professor. After that, he joined the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Fort Worth, TX, USA, as an Associate Professor in 2007. Singhal is currently a Professor at the Department of Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases Research, Beckman Research Institute, City of Hope, National Medical Center, Duarte, CA, USA. His current research interests are in glutathione metabolism and its role in stress defense, carcinogenesis, drug-resistance, radiation-resistance, and cell-signaling mechanisms. His research objectives and expertise are in multidrug resistance in cancer, role of non-ABC drug transporter, RLIP76, stress signaling and oxidative stress, radiation poisoning and liposomal delivery, and syngeneic and xenografts model. Singhal has published more than 125 peer-reviewed research articles in these and related areas.
