Randall L Mello

Pharmacy technician at rite aid.

Biography

Dr. Randall Mello is originally from Riverside, California. He received his Bachelors of Science (BS) in

Bioengineering at the University of California (UC) Riverside in 2010 and went on to pursue a Master of
Science (MS) in Bioengineering in 2011. While at UC Riverside, Dr. Mello worked as a Certified
Pharmacy Technician at Rite Aid and decided on a career as a Pharmacist because of the ability to
combine both of his passions: direct patient care and exploring the evolving science of pharmaceutics.
Dr. Mello received his Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of the Pacific (UOP), Thomas J. Long School
of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in May 2014. During his time at UOP, he developed a third passion:
academic teaching. Dr. Mello chose to pursue a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at CNUCOP/SMCS
to develop both his teaching ability and clinical skills, and further explore his passion in academia. After
the PGY-1 residency program, Dr. Mello plans to pursue a PGY-2 residency program and continue
teaching students. His long-term goals are to practice in his specialty and teach in academia as a means
to inspire the next generation of student pharmacists. In his past time, Dr. Mello enjoys taking his two
dogs out on nature hikes with his wife, and food and wine tasting around the Northern California region.
