Marcelo Ozu got a fellowship in 2004 from CONICET to do PhD and started to teach Physiology and Biophysics in the School of Medicine. During his thesis he developed the emptied-out oocyte technique to study water fluxes through Xenopus laevis oocyte membranes with control of the compartments on both sides of the membrane. He obtained PhD degree in 2008 and then a postdoctoral fellowship from CONICET.
