John Orland Schorge

Biography

Dr. Schorge earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan with Honors Distinction in Cellular & Molecular Biology. He received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and completed residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the integrated program of Brigham and Women’s Hospital-Massachusetts General Hospital. Upon gynecologic oncology fellowship graduation at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, he joined the faculty at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center-Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. During his 8 years on the faculty, he served as the fellowship director in gynecologic oncology, was co-PI of the Gynecologic Oncology Group, and was awarded the Outstanding Faculty Teacher within the department. Dr. Schorge currently serves as the Chief of Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Harvard Medical School, has authored more than 120 original research papers, serves as a Board Examiner in Gynecologic Oncology and is an editor of the 1500+ page text Williams’ Gynecology.
