  Analysis of the Effect of Sleep Quality on the Life Quality of Irritable Bowel Syndrome Patients

  Purpose: This study was conducted as a descriptive study to evaluate the sleep quality, to determine the factors which can be related to sleep quality and to confirm the relation between sleep quality and life quality in individuals with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). Methods: The research was conducted with 40 IBS patients who visited the gastroenterology outpatient’s clinic of a training and research hospital between September 2014 and January 2015. IBS Quality of Life Questionnaire (IBSQOL), Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and the identification form for IBS individuals developed by the researcher based on the literature were used as data collection tools.
