Background and aim: The goal of this study was to investigate the association between omentin-1 and different biochemical and anthropometric parameters in obese and non-obese, also in patients with metabolic syndrome compared to the healthy control group.
Methods: A total of 81 women were included in the current case-control study. Based on their BMI they were divided into obese and non-obese groups and according to WHO criteria for metabolic syndrome they were divided in to metabolic syndrome group and healthy subjects. Fasting blood sample was collected to determine biochemical indicators and insulin resistance and sensitivity indices (HOMA-IR and Quicki). Omentin-1 plasma level was assessed by ELISA. Association of omentin-1 with biochemical markers was studied. Body composition was measured using Body composition analyzer BC-418MA- Tanita... View More»
