Biography

Dr. Anna Ivana did her PhD in Biochemistry in the University of Paris VI, France in 1979. She did her PhD in Genetics in the University of Pavia, Italy in 1984. She is a Research Director at the Istituto di Genetica Molecolare CNR, Pavia.She is also an Associate Professor at the University of Pavia. She is a Group leader of many Italian and International projects. Her research activity is Poly(ADP-ribosylation) in DNA repair, malignant transformation and cell death; Development of morphological and biochemical assays to monitor apoptosis and autophagy; Drug response of cancer cells; Screening of natural and synthetic drugs with anticancer activity. She is an author of 133 full papers, 32 book chapters, 260 Abstracts, one patent; editor of one book. She is a member of SIBBM (Società Italiana di Biofisica e Biologia Molecolare), ECDO (European Cell Death Organization) and ASBMB (American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology).

Research Interest

Poly(ADP-ribosylation) in DNA repair, malignant transformation and cell death, development of morphological and biochemical assays to monitor apoptosis and autophagy, drug response of cancer cells, screening of natural and synthetic drugs with anticancer activity.
