To study the integration of spacing and fertilizers on yield and quality enhancement of sweet basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) under Telangana conditions, a field experiment was conducted in Factorial RBD with three replications in 2020-2021 at the medicinal and aromatic plants research station, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, to analyze quantitative and qualitative parameters of sweet basil as influenced by spacing and inorganic fertilizers. There were 15 treatment combinations consisting of two factors, viz., 3 plant spacings (S1: 40 cm × 20 cm, S2: 50 cm × 30 cm, and S3: 60 cm × 40 cm) and 5 fertilizer levels (F1: 60:30:30 NPK Kg/ha; F2: 90:45:45 NPK Kg/ha, F3: 120:60:60 NPK Kg/ha, F4: 150:75:75 NPK Kg/ha, F5: Absolute control). Results indicated that maximum fresh herbage yield (296.10 q/ha), seed yield (420.00 Kg), essential oil percentage (0.33%), and oil yield (54.65 kg/ha) were found in the treatment combination of 40 cm × 20 cm spacing and 150:75:75 NPK Kg/ha (S1F4). Treatments did not affect the concentration of limonene, linalool, methyl chavicol, eugenol, methyl eugenol, β-elemene, caryophyllenenor, and antioxidant activity in basil oil.
