Forest fires are often perceived solely as catastrophic events that
wreak havoc on biodiversity, ecosystems, human life, and
property. Indeed, the devastation caused by wildfires-from
scorched landscapes and destroyed habitats to displaced
communities and damaged infrastructure-is undeniable.
However, the narrative is not entirely one-sided. While forest
fires pose serious hazards, the regrowth that follows can yield
numerous ecological benefits. Understanding this duality is
crucial in addressing forest management, climate change
mitigation, and ecosystem restoration.
