The emergence and global spread of antimicrobial-resistant pathogens have presented one of the most formidable challenges to modern medicine. Infections caused by Multidrug-Resistant (MDR) organisms such as Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA), Carbapenem-Resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE), and Vancomycin-Resistant Enterococci (VRE) have rendered many traditional antibiotics ineffective, leading to increased morbidity, mortality, and healthcare costs.
