Automation, or Labor-saving technology is the technology by which a process or procedure is performed with minimal human assistance. Automation, or Labor-saving technology is the technology by which a process or procedure is performed with minimal human assistance. Automation is the creation of technology and its application in order to control and monitor the production and delivery of various goods and services. It performs tasks that were previously performed by humans. The dictionary defines automation as “the technique of making an apparatus, a process, or a system operate automatically.” We define automation as "the creation and application of technology to monitor and control the production and delivery of products and services. Three types of automation in production can be distinguished: fixed automation, programmable automation, and flexible automation.Examples of fixed automation include machining transfer lines found in the automotive industry, automatic assembly machines, and certain chemical processes.
