Antiviral Chemistry & Chemotherapy

Antiviral Chemistry & Chemotherapy is a peer-reviewed academic journal published bimonthly by International Medical Press. It was established in January 1990 and published by Blackwell Publishing until 1997. The editor-in-chief is Hugh J. Field.

Chemotherapy is a drug treatment that uses powerful chemicals to kill fast-growing cells in your body. Chemotherapy is most often used to treat cancer, since cancer cells grow and multiply much more quickly than most cells in the body. Many different chemotherapy drugs are available. How many cycles of chemotherapy are necessary? You may need four to eight cycles to treat your cancer. A series of cycles is called a course. Your course can take 3 to 6 months to complete -- and you may need more than one course of chemo to beat the cancer.

Antiviral Chemistry & Chemotherapy publishes the results of original research concerned with the biochemistry, mode of action, chemistry, pharmacology and virology of antiviral compounds. Manuscripts dealing with molecular biology, animal models and vaccines are welcome. The journal also publishes reviews, pointers, short communications and correspondence.Chemotherapy is a type of cancer treatment that uses one or more anti-cancer drugs as part of a standardized chemotherapy regimen. Chemotherapy may be given with a curative intent, or it may aim to prolong life or to reduce symptoms
