Anaplastology Journals

Anaplastology is a branch of medicine dealing with the prosthetic rehabilitation of an absent, disfigured or malformed anatomically critical location of the face or body. The term anaplastology was coined by Walter G. Spohn and is used worldwide.

Anaplastology deals with wide range of fields related to customizing of facial impressions or anti aging therapies or facial restoration popularly known as craniofacial prosthesis and customized dental implantations known as prosthodontics. Anaplastology is an art and science of providing custom made facial, ocular, and non-weight bearing somatic prostheses. The journal articles gives an intelligence in sculpture, Biology, materials science, superficial anatomy and physiology of humans, polymer science, optics, dermatology, oral and maxillofacial surgery and otolaryngology. Anaplastologist solely works with facial and somatic prostheses, and also collaborate with prosthodontists and ocularists. By combining technical, medical, and artistic skills with patience and compassion, the anaplastologist can create custom-made, lifelike prostheses that fit the needs of each patient. Patients suffering with dissatisfaction of their anatomical accuracy like face, hand, body and any visible aesthetic prosthesis is important in treatment. Patient's initial acceptance of and their happiness with their new prosthesis is the highest mark for the success of the treatment. The treatment procedure sometimes requires huge medical community cooperation like involvement of oral maxillofacial surgeon, head and neck surgeons, plastic surgeon, anaplastologists, oncologic surgeons, occupational therapists, speech therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. This entire plans the diagnostic and treatment procedure in order to provide patients with successful prosthetic restoration and a positive treatment experience.
