Struggles Faced by Andrologists and Patients in the COVID-19 Pandemic System

Many In many countries, the COVID-19 viral infection has resulted in a significant and quick health emergency. India has the second highest number of confirmed cases, after China, since the start of the Pandemic to today. In the first weeks of the emergency, social distancing measures were implemented at both the national and regional levels, leading to a gradual lockdown of the entire national territory. The suspension of all outpatient activities (save urgent ones) and the restriction of surgical activities to emergency and/or oncological treatments were among the first steps taken in the healthcare profession. Due to the epidemic's rapid spread, the same precautions have been implemented in the private and mixed (private–public) medical fields. We can safely say that in an emergency situation like one which has been determined, the anthological discipline is basically on standby because it deals with pathologies almost exclusively of an elective nature (if we exclude urgent conditions like torsion of the testicle, scrotal and penile traumas, testis and penile cancers).

Andrology is known as the non-clinical examination by qualities in order on essential/non-essential clinical activities. Andrologists for those who are unable carry out their duties on a regular basis, but particularly patients who have yet to find an answer, are on hold, despite the fact that it is well known that andrological diseases have a significant negative influence on quality of life. This criticality is important when we consider that it is now difficult to anticipate the severity of the emergency or the economic and organisational consequences of its resolution.

A group of national experts affiliated with the Society of Andrology examined and shared possible ways for demodulating andrological activity. Andrologists initiatives all national and international scientific meetings were cancelled as a result of the government officials different measures.

To make up for the conspicuous disappearance of opportunities for scientific conferences, a cycle of live reports from known experts was launched on YouTube, covering a wide range of andrological concerns. The YouTube channel was chosen because it allows members to quickly follow along without having to download any streaming programmers and allows them to check the contents at any time. Client initiatives Nonurgent outpatient activities (such as Andrology) have been discontinued across the country in this new setting. Through an innovative project called "SA reacts to your medical issues," the SA wanted to provide concrete support to patients by offering the opportunity to have a free telephone consultation with a SA representative.

The project, which is a telephone consultation, consists of simply listening to the patient and providing a valuable consultation to address these issues about diagnostic or therapeutic paths that have already begun but have been halted due to the COVID-19 emergency. With the help of the SA's press office, a dedicated phone line was established up for this purpose and publicized through various press outlets. Finally, a dedicated survey was devised and implemented with the help of the SA's scientific committee in order to better understand whether a forced quarantine can affect general quality of life, particularly in terms of sexuality. The purpose of this short survey was to learn about the habits of both men and women in country.
