Dear Reader’s,

Journal of Perioperative & Critical Intensive Care Nursing (JPCIC) promotes excellence of care of critically ill patients by specialist nurses and their professional colleagues; to provide an international and interdisciplinary forum for the publication, dissemination and exchange of research findings, experience and ideas; to develop and enhance the knowledge, skills, attitudes and creative thinking essential to good critical care nursing practice.

In the year 2020, Journal of Perioperative & Critical Intensive Care Nursing (JPCIC) released first Special Issue on “Patient Care, Nursing Safety & Workload Balance during Covid-19 Pandemic Situation”. This special issue is a collection of one review and three short communication articles along with an editorial note.

As the aim of JPCIC is to publish latest research articles with good quality, special issue is coined on current global challenging pandemic COVID-19. With the support and encouragement of editorial board members, authors & reviewers, successfully released the special issue in August. This special issue highlights the safety measures & care that has to be followed by healthcare workers especially nursing staff & COVID-19 patients; along with ICU care and nutrition food for covid-19 patients. I believe that researchers/scholars/scientists/students will benefit with the reading of the articles- both academically and personally.

I am delighted to inform you that our first special issue edition is successful and received huge response and applause from various disciplines. With the same enthusiasm, JPCIC is pleased to announce another special issue on COVID-19 pandemic outbreak.

Authors are cordially invited to submit their current research activities and outcomes in the form of any article type of science communication such as original research, review, expert opinion, commentary, short note communication to our Journal. Manuscripts can be submitted online via Editorial Tracking System or as an E-mail attachment to the Editorial Office at criticalcare@medicalres.org. JPCIC is using Online Review and Editorial Tracking Systems for quality review process and the authors can submit manuscripts and track their progress.

I take this opportunity to acknowledge the contribution of Dr. Tarika Sharma for reviewing the articles on time and the support rendered by the editorial assistant, Ms. Julia Gillard in bringing out issues of JPCIC in time. I would also like to express my gratitude to all the authors, reviewers, the publisher, the advisory and the editorial board of JPCIC, the office bearers and staff for their support in bringing out yet another volume of JPCIC and look forward to their unrelenting support to bring out the Volume 6 of JPCIC in scheduled time.
