Obstetrics and Gynecology is a medical specialty that deals with gynecology and obstetrics studying about female reproductive organs' health and management of pregnancy. To reduce mortality rate of mothers and new born, advancement in the fields of Obstetrics and Gynecology is highly important.
Gynecology & Obstetrics Open Access is an international peer reviewed journal that publishes articles related to recent advances in the field of Gynecology and obstetrics. In volume 6 issue 6 of the journal four research articles and 3 case reports were published.
In the research article Sahli et al. noted the Impact of Brachytherapy in the treatment of advanced cervical cancer in advanced stage. They concluded that Brachytherapy is the standard approach to treat cervical cancer [1]. Ali in his studies assessed the readiness of nursing students for e-learning and suggested implementation of new technologies for e-Learning in undergraduate nursing education [2].
Nassar et al. in their research article showed the association between vitamin D and pre-eclampsia risk during pregnancy. The authors concluded that Vitamin D is a potential candidate for preventing preeclampsia, and there is an urgent need for testing its effectiveness and safety [3].
Samba et al. reviewed caesarean sections using Robson (Ten-group) classification system. They concluded that women who had undergone caesarian (CS) previously, women with first time pregnancy having more 37 weeks of gestation period and pregnant women having more 37 weeks of gestation period who has given normal birth previously are more prone to caesarian sections [4].
Asefa et al., Iannaccone et al. and Smirnova et al. reported cases on postmenopausal uterine inversion, hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, and low platelet (HELLP) syndrome and in vitro maturation of oocytesn in patients with repeated fertilization failure in IVF respectively [5-7].
