Background: Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) is an autonomic nervous system disorder characterised by orthostatic intolerance, reduced concentration, headache, nausea, fatigue, blurred vision, anxiety, cognitive dysfunction, gastro-intestinal disturbances, sleep disturbances, over active bladder, and exercise intolerance.
Diagnosis: POTS is suspected clinically. However, the diagnosis is based on the changes in heart rate when moving from recumbent to a standing position. Various scales are available to assess symptom burden in POTS.
Conclusion: The patients with POTS should be screened for anxiety and depression and patients with migraine should be screened for POTS for better therapeutics and understanding pf this entity.
