Polysubstance abuse, the concurrent or sequential use of more than one psychoactive substance, has emerged as a significant public health concern, particularly within densely populated urban environments. The dynamic social, economic, and cultural factors present in urban settings often create a high-risk context for the development and reinforcement of substance use behaviors. In these communities, access to multiple substances ranging from alcohol and cannabis to synthetic opioids and stimulants is relatively easy, leading to complex usage patterns that pose unique challenges for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.
