Abstract

Introduction: During covid-19 pandemic several extra pulmonary effects of the disease have been observed. Multiple endocrine manifestations are also accelerated by covid-19 viruses. We observed a previously healthy male without any comorbids and undiagnosed covid-19 who presented in OPD with complaints of palpitations, shortness of breath and weakness not responding to the symptomatic therapy. On workup his ESR was high with deranged TFTs and scan favoring subacute thyroiditis. On enquiry history based covid illness was suspected which was later confirmed by presence of covid antibodies. He responded well to the NSAIDS along with steroids. In this era of covid-19 pandemic patient’s history should be evaluated properly and subacute thyroiditis should be considered as one of the differentials of palpitations and shortness of breath in the absence of fever and covid antigen test in otherwise healthy individual.
