Addiction can come in many different forms and it is the uncontrollable desire to either use a substance such as drugs or alcohol or to participate in an activity, such as gambling or having sexual intercourse. Addiction can occur with numerous other things, such as food, shopping, or going on the internet; the term “addiction” does not just apply to harmful substances or habits.
