Psychotherapy

psychotherapy is the treatment of emotional, behavioral, personality, and psychiatric disorders based primarily on verbal or nonverbal communication and interventions with the patient, in contrast to treatments using chemical and physical measures. It consists of a series of techniques for treating mental health, emotional and some psychiatric disorders. Psychotherapy aims to increase the individual's sense of his/her own well-being.

Psychotherapy is a general term for treating mental health problems by talking with a psychiatrist, psychologist or another mental health provider. During psychotherapy, you learn about your condition and your moods, feelings, thoughts, and behaviors. Psychotherapy helps you learn how to take control of your life and respond to challenging situations with healthy coping skills.
