Perioperative care is to provide better conditions for patients before operation, during operation, and after operation. This period is used to prepare the patient both physically and psychologically for the surgical procedure and after surgery. Proper perioperative care minimizes the potential for cancellation or delay of surgery. Perioperative care is based on individual as well as general recommendations. Many drugs can interact with anesthetic drugs or have adverse effects during or after surgery. Thus, usually before surgery the patient's drugs are reviewed and which should be taken on the day of surgery is decided.
