Liver Function Tests

Liver Function Test is the blood test that indicates the abnormalities in the liver functioning and measures the levels of enzymes and proteins in the blood. Liver Function Test disorders cause viral liver infections, alcohol abuse, cirrhosis, hemochromatosis, shock and heart failure. Liver Function Test indicates the normal metabolic process in the liver that is responsible for the transfer of amino acids such as serum glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase (SGOT) and serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase (SGPT).
