Glomerular Disease

Glomerular Disease is the retention of toxins and excretion of red blood cells and proteins out of bloodstream. Glomerular diseases are classified into glomerulonephritis and glomerulosclerosis. Diagnosed by urine, blood, imaging tests and kidney biopsy.

Glomerular disease results in different diseases due to infection or drug toxicity to the kidneys. Primary glomerular diseases includes group of disorders characterized by alterations pathologically in normal glomerular function and structure, independent of processes of systemic disease. Glomerular disease also called glomerulonephritis can be acute (a sudden attack of inflammation) or chronic (coming on gradually).Treatment depends upon the type of disease.Kidneys can be damageddue to severe or prolonged inflammation associated with glomerulonephritis.
