Biography

Eleonore Fröhlich holds a Medical degree and a Diploma in Biochemistry from the Universities Tübingen and Heidelberg, Germany. Since 2007 she is Director of the Core Facility Imaging at the Center for Medical Research of the Medical University of Graz, Austria and professor at the University of Tübingen, Germany. Since 2013 she also serves as Scientific Adviser to the Animal Welfare Body of the Medical University of Graz according to Directive 2010/63/EU on the protection of animals used for scientific purposes and acts as key researcher at the Research Center Pharmaceutical Engineering in Graz. Her working expertise includes working as physician, teaching of students in anatomy, histology and embryology, and screening of compounds in drug development. Her main areas of research interest are biological and toxicological evaluation of nanoparticles and development of physiologically relevant in-vitro models. Eleonore Fröhlich is Editorial Board Member of 8 journals and reviewer for > 70 journals and grant agencies.
