Abstract:

Dermoid cysts are extremely rare in parotid gland. In head and neck region they account?s for 7% with the orbit and nose as most common areas. There are two theories regarding the origin of dermoid cyst; congenital and acquired. We are reporting an unusual case of dermoid cyst in the parotid gland of a 15year female and a review of the relevant literature.

Biography :

Dina Mohammed-Ameen is qualified from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, following graduation she worked as a maxillofacial surgery resident in Al-Noor Specialist Hospital in Makkah then she joined Oral and maxillofacial surgery board program. Currently Dina is an assistant consultant and the 1st female oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Makkah. She is a well known active international speaker in many OMFS conferences and the Award winning of 1st prize in Saudi Counsel of Health specialties/Dental Day in Riyadh, 2011.
