Abstract:

The loss of buccal bone and subsequent apical migration of gingival zenith, possess of a significant challenge to the long term aesthetic success of anterior implants. To preserve this bundle bone a technique was developed known as socket shield technique. I will be presenting a case report of 13 yrs. Old female patient presented with Ellis class III fracture of tooth 12. Technique involved decoronation of tooth and segmentation mesiodistally in buccal and palatal halves with preservation of the buccal segment. Implant was engaged in the palatal bone of empty socket followed by immediate loading and temporisation with Protemp 4 using putty index. The purpose of the case was to evaluate the esthetic outcome in maxillary anterior implants.
