Abstract:

Obesity, now recognized as a disease and not a life style issue, is taking the world by a storm. Data shows that the prevalence of obesity has been steadily increasing worlwide over the past decade in an alarming speed. Advanced obesity generally requires surgical intervention which has proven very successful in its management as well as it accompanying comorbidities. Earlier stages of obesity, however, doesn???t warrant surgical intervention according to all credible international obesity management bodies. On the other hand, left untreated, they ususally progress to advanced obesity with all its inhernet dangers which lead to the introduction of much less invasive\traumatizing approaches to obesity management. This presntation highlights the commonest effective non-gut-offending weight loss devices.
