Abstract:

Conventional orthodontic treatment mechanics includes various treatment approaches like extraction, distalization and expansion. However some cases with severe skeletal discrepancies, mutilated dentition always posed special treatment challenges to the orthodontist. The introduction of micro implants has enabled treatment of many malocclusions which were considered difficult or even impossible just a few years back. Journals have even reported cases where even surgical cases have been treated using micro implants with very good results. In this presentation, I will be presenting few case reports treated using micro implants like distalization of molars, simultaneous intrusion and retraction of anteriors, molar protraction.
