Abstract:

The Lamina dura is described as an image of a lining reactive bundle bone. Lamina dura is radiographic image that may vary in sharpness with x-ray beam angulations, possibly due to disruptions along the lamina dura. The thickness and density of Lamina Dura is a product of occlusal stress from tooth force dissociation. The absence or diminution of lamina dura is diagnostic of many local & systemic conditions like hyperparathyroidism, renal osteodystrophy, etc. This poster throws light on the variations of appearance of lamina dura in radiographs and gives in depth knowledge about changes in lamina dura as an indication of systemic disease.
